Our work is divided into
mainly 3 areas:
Treatment
Room
Open Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 12:00am and 5:00 -
7:00pm. For blood tests,
dressings, blood pressure checks, ear syringing, ECG, suture
removal etc. We also run a Baby Immunisation Clinic and
Dressing Clinic from the Treatment room.
Baby
Immunisation Clinic
Thursday 1.00 - 2:30pm Here we
give all the necessary childhood vaccinations as recommended by
the National guidelines
Dressing
Clinic
Tuesday 1:30 - 3:30pm We run this clinic
together with the District Nurses where we see patients who may
require a longer appointment or specialist treatment.

Appointments are available throughout the
day Monday - Friday. Some of the services we offer are listed

Asthma
Here our Practice Nurses
Julie and Alison offer annual check ups to known asthmatics and can
be seen to advise on, review and change treatment as necessary. Find out more about your Asthma at National Asthma Campaign

Blood Pressure
Here we offer
regular appointments for blood pressure management where we can
offer can offer lifestyle advice, arrange review or refer back to
your GP as necessary.
Cervical Smears
All
women between 20 and 65 are included in the recall system when they
register and are invited to attend for a smear at least 5
yearly.
Coronary Heart Disease
An annual
appointment is offered where lifestyle advice is given, drug therapy
monitored and blood tests reviewed. Learn about

Diabetes
Here patients with
diabetes are reviewed at least annually by Alison or Teresa and
offered advice on their lifestyle, diet and treatment. Have a look at the British Diabetes

Family
Planning
We offer a comprehensive range of family
planning advice and treatment including emergency contraception. We
offer emergency afternoon appointments (3:30pm to 4:00pm)for young
people who may need help or advice. Have a look

New
Patient Checks
All new patients will be asked to complete
a health questionnaire. The nurses will then check through this and
offer an appointment as necessary.
Smoking
Here
we offer advice on how to give up smoking, offer follow up
appointments and prescribe Nicotine Replacement Therapy or Zyban (no
smoking drug) as appropriate.
Teenage
Clinic
Here we give the necessary Diptheria/Tetanus
and polio booster which is due at age 15 and use the appointment as
an opportunity for young people to discuss any health issues that
they may be concerned about. Have a look at an

Travel Clinic
Wednesday
4:00 - 6:30pm Here we offer the necessary vaccinations and advice
for your safe travel abroad. We ask that before appointment you fill
in a form at reception so that we can assess your needs. Most
vaccines need to be given at least 2 weeks before travel and more
complicated regimes can obviously take longer, therefore we ask for
as much notice as possible prior to your holiday (preferably 6

Weight Management
We can offer dietary
advice on how to lose weight and prescribe drug therapy if thought
appropriate. British Nutrition

Work out your Body Mass
Index (BMI).
Well Person
At this
appointment we offer general lifestyle advice, discuss risk factors
and check weight, blood pressure and urine and offer a blood test if
thought necessary.
Well Woman
Appointments are
offered where women can discuss their health issues such as
contraception, HRT and Breast Examination.
