NHS Direct

Have you discovered NHS Direct yet? NHS Direct is a 24-hour nurse-led help line providing confidential healthcare, advice and information - what to do if you're feeling ill; health concerns for you and your family; local health services; self-help and support organisations. They can provide advice about minor illnesses and may save you an unnecessary appointment. They can also provide you with details of how to access NHS dental care.

Out of Hours Emergency Primary Care

There is no longer a Saturday morning emergency surgery at Hanham Surgery. All emergencies out of hours will now be handled by FRENDOC from Friday 6:30pm to Monday 8am.

Please note all calls to FRENDOC between 23:00-08:00 are now handled by NHS Direct initially who will then pass on your details after processing. It is possible that you may be given advice by NHS direct which may not need contact with FRENDOC at all.
